The transit of venus took place on June 8th, 2004 after 122 years.
This rare cosmic event was predicted by Johanes keppler.
But was observed by a scientist called 'Horroks' & his friend.
The next transit will be visible visible after 8 years i,e in 2012
and then after 105 yrs i,e in 2117.
Using this event many scientists and students try to caluculate the ditance between the earth and the sun.
